Hi

I am Vika Lyubimova, an architect and object maker born in Moscow and currently based in Germany, working between sculpture and spatial practice.

My work explores the relationship between form, material, and space. I approach making as an intuitive, material-led process, where each piece develops through a dialogue with weight, texture, balance, and resistance. Allowing space for chance is an essential part of this process, shaping the final form.

I don’t separate art from design. Instead, I see both as part of a continuous spatial exploration. The objects I create act as active elements within space — influencing light, movement, and atmosphere.

Alongside my work with objects, I also engage with drawing and painting as integral parts of my practice. These mediums allow me to explore form and composition in a more immediate and fluid way, extending the same ideas into two-dimensional space.

Alongside my broader practice, I develop drop. — a personal series of sculptural objects that extends this exploration through a more focused, ongoing body of work.

With a background in architecture, my approach moves between structural precision and intuitive making, using material as a way to shape presence and meaning within space.
